Ready, Set, SNOW 2011

Guess what...I'm back:) Well we're snowed in and what better time to update my blog a little bit...right?

We had been watching the weather, and we knew that this was probably going to be a pretty big snow, so we spent most of the day Sunday getting prepared. We made sure we had everything we would need if the power were to go out. We also needed to get a few groceries (note to self…never wait until the night before a snow storm to get groceries CRAZY!!!.) Once we got home, we worked really hard at getting all 5 Christmas trees down. I did not want to get snowed in and feel like I was in a forest. I was already late getting the trees down and I did not want to have to sit there and see it day after day. After all that was packed up and put away, I made a huge pot of potato soup that we would have to eat on. I think I may have went a little overboard with the soup…it’s three days later and we still have so much left. I was so worried that the snow was going to miss us. I had been seeing people posts on facebook and they were all talking about how much it was snowing., and we weren’t getting anything. I was letting the kids stay up to see it, and finally around 11:30pm it started to fall. It was so pretty and the kids were so excited, we bundled up and we out in it at midnight. The ground was already covered and it had only been snowing for about 30 minutes. The next morning we got up to a winter wonderland. We had 5 inches and it was still falling! I just love snow days! We have really enjoyed just getting to spend time as a family the last few days. It’s almost like the world has just been put on hold. I thought by now, we might get a little tired of each other, but I have been pleasantly surprised! We’ve played games, watched movies, sipped on hot apple cider, twirled in the snow at midnight, and even managed a few naps here and there. One night the kids even had Ricky upstairs singing karaoke! That was funny to hear him singing a country song!!! I am blessed and I look forward to what this winter has in store for us☺
