Only 12 miles

Blessing #1
Everyday, I am blessed to ride with my children to work. This is a simple blessing that I have not really thought about before. I love our morning talks in the car. I love to hear both my kids singing praise and worship songs. Don't get me wrong. There are those mornings that I wouldn't mind a little peace and quiet, but I know that this will be a time that I miss one day.

This morning I decided to take the camera and take a picture of what I get to see.The kids thought this was so funny. After I took their picture, Ryte said, "now let me take a picture of what we get to see!" They like my idea about the blog and I have a feeling they will enjoy this as much as I will.

Let me start my saying, I am not a morning person at all. I never have been, and I don't think I ever will be. I am so blessed that I married a morning person! Ryte is a litte bit like me. He is always cold (that should explain the Northface in September). In the winter, you won't even see his face. He is covered up from head to toe with a blanket. He is normally still sleepy and a bit grumpy, but he brightened up for the camera this morning.
Riya keeps me together; she's like a personal assistant, and I know I couldn't do it without her. Many times she helps to carry my lunch or some of my school bags out. Other times, she helps Ryte read the book he was supposed to read for homework. She is my saving grace most days.

This morning the kids realized that Ricky was right behind us. This is not something unusual. We always leave before him, but I drive slow and he always catches up. They love that! It's so funny that we just left him, but they will wave their little hands as hard as they can just to see him wave back. Once we get to the red light where he takes a left, he always beeps the horn. This morning I just looked in the rear view mirror and noticed the enormous smiles on both of their faces
. There are no words to describe how seeing their smiles lights me up inside. It's in the simple things where true joy is found.

Why? I'm not sure...I just feel led to.

I am starting this blog as a way to record all the blessings in my life. So often I get consumed in all that is going on around me that I forget to enjoy the simple moments of life. God has blessed my life tremendously! I think it's time that I praise him for that. Lately, I have focused on the negative, and I have not taken time to look around and just see the positive. It's time to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to share this site with many people. Truth is, I'm not the best writer. I think I am really using this a tool for me to refocus my life on what really matters. If you are reading this, I hope that you take the time to look at your own blessings (no matter how big or small) and realize what a mighty God we serve!
